Green, pink, blue, and grey hydrogen
These are terms used with regard to hydrogen as a fuel in terms of how it was produced.
Green hydrogen is produced using renewable energy.
Pink hydrogen is produced using nuclear energy.
Blue hydrogen is when fossil fuels are used to produce the hydrogen, but the carbon emissions are stored underground through carbon capture and storage (still not done at large scale commercially viable levels).
Grey hydrogen is produced using fossil fuels and still emits the carbon released during their burning into the atmosphere.
