We offer various jobs for English speakers in our global functions. Summer jobs at our production facilities require fluent Finnish and you can view them on our Finnish website.
Global functions support our businesses all over the world. We value applicants who have positive and energetic attitude as well as self-initiative and sense of responsibility. In these positions excellent English skills are a prerequisite and other language skills are regarded as an asset. Tasks are diverse and challenging and we are mainly looking for higher degree students of relevant fields of studies.

Our head office, Biofore House, is located in the city centre of Helsinki. We offer summer jobs in IT, communications, sourcing, supply chain, environment and responsibility as well as finance and control. Our work community is international and our daily working language is English.
This year there are multiple summer trainee positions available in the communications area of different UPM businesses and also UPM brand. Here are a few examples:
Example: As a summer trainee in Communications you get to work in many different tasks in communications. We expect you to have a strong interest in digital communications and you should enjoy content creation for various communication channels, such as intranet, internet, and social media. In addition to writing and planning social media campaigns and posts, skills in photography, video shooting and editing will be an asset. We expect you to have achieved an advanced level of studies in the field of communications, marketing, digital communications, or a related field.
Example: As a summer trainee in UPM Occupational health and safety team you will actively communicate about occupational health and safety topics at UPM. Working as part of the OHS team you will produce content to digital communication channels, especially e-learning content to UPM digital Learning environment. Your genuine interest and passion towards health and safety topics will be considered an asset.
Our offices in Tampere offer summer jobs in IT, financial services, sourcing, supply chain, customer service and invoicing as well as in UPM Energy. Our Timber business headquarters offers summer jobs in supply chain, customer service and invoicing. Tampere offices are based in Tulli and Dynamo Business parks and our Raflatac site at Tesoma, Tampere.
Example: UPM Communication Papers customer service prepares and handles orders from customers, supporting both domestic and foreign customers, and communicates with other stakeholders both externally and internally at UPM. In addition, the customer service team takes care of invoicing and export documentation. The work environment is fast-paced and the work itself independent with varying tasks. In your studies you have ideally focused mostly on business and economics either in university or university of applied sciences. Other languages than English, especially Swedish and German, are an asset.
Example: As a sourcing summer trainee at Tesoma, Tampere, you will execute and develop selected source to pay related processes, such as opening new items and vendors as well as managing the supplier evaluation process and information management. You will participate in sourcing processes and tool development, implementation activities and support environment creation. You will also conduct product safety related customer inquiries and manage them together with our stakeholders and suppliers. In your studies in a relevant field you are preferably on your second or third year and you communicate and present fluently in written and spoken English. Fluent Finnish is an asset and most importantly, your genuine interest in global procurement and sourcing processes and tools is very valuable.
UPM Logistics offers summer jobs both in our operative and administrative teams. You will perform administrative tasks such as invoice verification and payment, maintenance and update of rates and routes, customs clearance procedures, and logistics reporting and analytics. Our operations jobs include sourcing of sea transport services from external service providers, daily booking operations and sea transport capacity management. A summer job in Kotka provides an excellent opportunity to build experience in an international business environment, gain insights into teamwork and acquire valuable work experience in maritime logistics and related support functions.
The headquarters of our Plywood business offers summer jobs in research and development as well as in supply chain.

Our Biocomposites headquarters offers summer jobs in supply chain and customer service. Excellent English skills are a prerequisite, and good skills especially in French are an asset. Our summer workers join our team early in the spring at the beginning of the terrace-building season. Please note that we select applicants for this team already in January.
Our Research and Development plays a significant role in creating new business opportunities in the modern forest industry. Our North European research centre offers summer jobs in research and development, either as a research assistant or independently in the laboratory. Our research assistants take part in projects, whereas our laboratory workers conduct analyses and prepare laboratory reports independently. We primarily aim to hire students from a relevant field of study for the position.

- We will invite you to an interview if your application seems like a good match for the position. Usually the interviews take place from March onwards but in some locations (e.g. Biocomposites) the applications are processed already during the application period.
