UPM Grada Best Pieces Exhibition on Jan 7-31, 2014 at Pro Puu Gallery in Lahti Finland
UPM presents the crème de la crème of UPM Grada designs on Jan 7-31, 2014 at Pro Puu Gallery in Lahti. The exhibition collection is based in both experienced designers’ and young talents’ pieces in which the UPM Grada material have been utilised in an innovative way. The exhibition climaxes in UPM Grada Design Awards Event on last week of January. The winner for both designer categories – UPM Grada 2013 Designer and Young Designer 2013 – will be announced in the event. The total value of prizes and co-operation agreements are 10 000 euros.
The nominees for UPM Grada Designer 2013 category are designers Samuli Naamanka, Tapio Anttila and Jouko Järvisalo. In the exhibition Samuli presents two of his UPM Grada designs; Isku’s Lightness chair and MyFly chair sold by Arktis and Piiroinen. Tapio’s UPM Grada work in spotlight are the ON series chairs, Mixhanger clothes-hanger and shoehorn as well as Bird Feeder Finland bird table. Jouko exhibits his Viuh chair which is part of the Mobel collection.
The nominees for the Young Designer 2013 category are Toni Kalliokoski and Markus Niskasaari, Jesse Christian Perttula and Anne Kärki. In the exhibition, Toni and Markus present their Aalto loudspeakers, Jesse his Moiré seat and Anne her partition board Playwood.
