Press Release 18.10.2013 11:00 EEST
(UPM Lappeenranta, 18 October 2013 at 09:00 EET) Application period for UPM’s renewed apprenticeship program at Kymi and Kaukas mills ended on the 15th of October. The number of applications exceeded expectations, as over 1,300 applications were received. The large number of applications is an indication of the interest towards both the industry and the company.

“We are very satisfied of the number of applications and thank already all who have sent an application. Everyone will get a personal answer in November and a note for  possible continuation in the application process”, says Juha Kääriäinen, GM for Kymi and Kaukas mills.

The application process continues through interviews and aptitude tests in November. The final decisions for the program will be made during November-December after the second round of interviews. The mills have approximately 45 vacancies in total and the apprenticeship programs will start in February. UPM’s Kymi and Kaukas mills have planned to engage apprenticeship programs annually.
