UPM Living offers wood-based products for interior decoration and building materials

(UPM, Helsinki, Finland, 15 August 2011 at 11:00) — The new further processed products business that was separated from UPM Timber in June has been named UPM Living. The new UPM Living manufactures wood-based products for interior decoration as well as high-quality building materials for gardens and homes. The UPM Living products are sold to consumers and industry. UPM Timber will focus on serving sawn timber customers in industry and the construction sector.

UPM Living consists of three segments: Home, Garden and House. "Our objective is to make UPM Living products the first choice for all interior decorators and constructors who are searching for top-quality interior decoration solutions made of wood, who are building a pergola for their garden or who are building an impressive façade for their house," says Senior Vice President of UPM Living, Arto Halonen. "Furthermore, all consumers decorating or building their homes from these beautiful and durable products can rest assured that the wood raw materials have been acquired from sustainably managed forests and have a small carbon footprint," continues Sari Mannonen, Sales and Marketing Director of UPM Living.

UPM published its new Living Designer Pool at the Flow Festival in Helsinki last weekend. The pool consists of Ville Hara and Anu Puustinen of Avanto Arkkitehdit, design agency Helorinne & Kallio and designer of the new Viini & Sapas restaurant for the Flow Festival Jaana Karell. UPM is launching a new type of collaboration with the new Design Pool. “We want to introduce a new products for construction seasons on regular basis”, says Arto Halonen.

UPM Living and the new products to be launched next year will be showcased again at the Habitare exhibition in Helsinki in September, where the UPM Living Designer Lounge will be presented to interior decoration and design professionals.
