Björn Wahlroos to continue as Chairman of UPM Board of Directors

At the organisation meeting of UPM-Kymmene Corporation's Board of Directors, Mr
Björn Wahlroos was re-elected as Chairman, and Mr Berndt Brunow was re-elected
as Deputy Chairman.

In addition, the Board of Directors re-elected from among its members Mr Karl
Grotenfelt as Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Ms Wendy E. Lane and Mr
Veli-Matti Reinikkala as members of the Committee.

Mr Berndt Brunow was re-elected as Chairman of the Human Resources Committee,
and Ms Ursula Ranin and Mr Robert J. Routs were re-elected as members of the
Committee.

Furthermore, Mr Björn Wahlroos was re-elected as Chairman of the Nomination and
Corporate Governance Committee, and Mr Matti Alahuhta and Mr Karl Grotenfelt
were re-elected as members of the Committee.
