(UPM, Helsinki, 14 July 2010) – WWF has launched a new voluntary rating tool allowing paper companies to report on their global ecological footprint in fine paper production. UPM is one of the five companies that lead the way in using this tool.
The Paper Company Environmental Index covers the impacts of fine paper production on forest ecosystems from fibre sourcing, emissions from manufacturing process such as CO2 emissions and water pollution, and corporate transparency.
