「グローバルな森林産業企業として、このCDP が掲げる 3 つのすべての観点が非常に重要です」と、UPM の環境副社長の Sami Lundgren は述べています。

UPMは、水を大量に消費する業界でありながらも、水使用量と排水負荷を継続的に削減し、排水処理プラントでリサイクルされた栄養素の使用を増やすことに重点を置いています。 水リスクも短期的および長期的の両方で定期的に評価され、その評価により、当社の生産拠点は流域リスクが低いか中程度の地域に位置していることが確認されています。
「COP 27 は、温暖化を 1.5°C に抑えるためには、変革の必要性がこれまで以上に重要であることを示しました」と、CDP ヨーロッパのエグゼクティブ ディレクターである Maxfield Weiss は述べています。 「2030 年までに排出量を半分に削減し、森林破壊をなくし、同時に水の安全保障を達成する必要があります。 自然なくして 1.5°C への道はありません」 と彼は続けます。

今年は約 20,000 社の企業が環境データを開示しました。 CDP の年次環境開示および採点プロセスは、企業の環境透明性のゴールド スタンダードとして広く認知されています。 2022 年には、130兆米ドル以上の資産を持つ680以上の投資家と、6.4兆米ドルの調達額を持つ280の主要購買者が、CDPのプラットフォームを通じて環境への影響、リスク、機会に関するデータを開示するよう企業に要請し、過去最高の18,700社から回答がありました。
