Press Release 4.11.2016 10:31 EET

(UPM Raflatac, Tampere, 4 November 2016 at 10:30 EET) - UPM Raflatac is proud to announce the inaugural launch of the 'Wine & Design' convention, which brings together wine industry experts in partnership with Verallia, a leading supplier of bottles to the wine industry, and Kurz Luxoro, global producer of foils and clichés.

Guests at Wine & Design will journey through the world of wine labelling from multiple perspectives including printing techniques, packaging design, technological development and sustainability. The event is a unique opportunity to discuss the latest wine industry trends, share learnings and gain inspiration from high-level speakers.

Along with presentations from UPM Raflatac and event sponsors Verallia and Luxoro, guests will sharpen their insights into the latest prospects in label printing technology with Andrea Citernesi, Business Driver from Gallus. Paolo Tamborrini from the Polytechnic University of Turin will explain the potential of sustainability through packaging design. Deborah Dawton, Chief Executive of the Design Business Association, will explore the role of design as an added value driver, and Marco Loschiavo Pellicano from creative agency Casa Rex will show how the personality of the brand is an essential key to success.

The journey concludes with content marketing specialist Lisa De Leonardis exploring the benefits of digital marketing, while Marco Magnocavallo, founder of the high-quality online wine retailer Tannico, will survey the potential of the ecommerce platform.

Wine & Design will be followed by the annual RafCycle® gala dinner, which is dedicated to wineries partnering in UPM Raflatac's RafCycle program. RafCycle provides sustainable recycling solutions for label stock by-products throughout the labelling value chain, and reflects UPM Raflatac's commitment to building a sustainable future.

"We're delighted to have brought together so many key influencers in the wine value chain with this unique opportunity to share and exchange ideas," sums up Wine & Spirits Business Development Manager for UPM Raflatac Stefano Pistoni. "With a greater understanding of the role we each play, we're better positioned to serve our clients and deliver even better solutions."

The event is by invitation only, and takes place at Castello di San Salvatore, Susegana (TV) Italy, on November 4, 2016.
