(UPM, Helsinki, 27 May, 2008) – UPM's Customer On-Line service has proven to be a success among customers. Both the number of hits and of persons using it has been continuously growing every month. The user base is very wide; in one company Customer On-Line can be used by financial department, purchasing personnel and warehouse workers.
"We are really happy to see how much we can reduce the routine work. The target is to influence the ways of working to be more effective, as well as to improve our cooperation with our customers in supply chain related items like stocking or reporting," says Kati Pulkkinen from UPM Marketing.
Customer On-Line is an online service in UPM's service portfolio. It allows customers to track their orders throughout the supply chain, and it is integrated into UPM's sales system. Orders, deliveries, stocks and invoicing can be tracked in an instant. The system enables tailored customer solutions on a very detailed or very general level, and the information can be checked in practically real-time, 24/7.
"Our customer users have different needs and the tool has the flexibility to satisfy them because each user can create their personalised reports. Reports can also be downloaded into Excel for sharing with colleagues or doing projections of future usage. Feedback from our customers has been very positive and we can already now say that COL is proving to be a real success," says Mikael Thesleff of UPM Magazine Papers Division.
UPM has focused on highly sophisticated technical solutions, while developing the system. "The system is very fast. With the used technology, we can enter detailed information and retrieve it from the system effortlessly," Pulkkinen explains.
UPM Customer On-Line is being further developed. Version 3.0. was introduced in June 2007, and the next version is coming in autumn 2008, containing many features requested by users.
