(UPM, Helsinki, December 14, 2007) – UPM's interactive online experience www.upmforestlife.com has achieved top places in two categories in the European Excellence Awards. The awards were for successful Issues and Reputation Management and for best Website. In addition, UPM Forest Life was among the five best achievements in the Ecology and Environment category.
The European Excellence Awards takes a comprehensive look at the full spectrum of the communications disciplines throughout Europe and honours the most outstanding achievements of communications professionals in their field.
The winners were selected by 30 communications professionals from across Europe. The diverse jury represented both companies and organisations to ensure a balanced evaluation of the nominees.
”The double success of these awards further demonstrates the vision we set out with when developing UPM Forest Life,” says Ms Aili Piironen, Director, Issues Management, Corporate Communications.
She added: “To be recognised by our peers, especially in such esteemed company, is extremely rewarding for all involved in the site and its development.”
The site has found its way to more than 120,000 visitors already. Continuously evolving, a living forest always offers new things to see for visitors from all continents. Following the launch of the site in spring 2007, UPM has also received numerous other plaudits.
