UPM Rafsec, a member of UPM Group, announces that it is doubling the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag and label production capacity of its plant in Jyväskylä, Finland. The value of the investment is approximately EUR 1.5 million and it will be concluded in August 2004.
The capacity increase will further strengthen UPM Rafsec's position as the leading company in its field. In addition, the company addresses the rapidly growing demand for both its RFID products and improves its capability to serve the emerging market for electronic product code tags.
UPM Rafsec´s Jyväskylä factory is the only one with a fully integrated RFID tag production process, including antenna manufacturing, chip attachment and different lamination technologies. After the investment UPM Rafsec's production capacity will be largest in the world.
