RFID

UPM RFID specialises in the development and high-volume production of HF and UHF RFID tags and inlays. UPM RFID tags and inlays are designed to meet the specific needs of each end-use area and have been successfully deployed in real-life applications.

The frequency typically used for high frequency (HF) RFID systems is 13.56 MHz. The HF frequency range is accepted worldwide. A typical HF RFID system uses passive tags and offers fair performance in the presence of metals and liquids. HF RFID systems are widely used in libraries, mass transit and product authentication.

Ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID systems provide longer operating distances and better read-rates compared to HF systems. The frequency varies between 860 and 960 MHz. In addition to retail, UHF RFID systems are employed in various supply chain management applications.
