UPM Pulp reinforces sales organisation

In line with the business strategy, UPM Pulp has continued to strengthen its sales and technical customer service functions both in Asia-Pacific and Europe in order to serve its customers well and enable growth. The following appointments have been made:
Lajos Eric Forster has been appointed Sales Director for Europe. Mr Forster has previously held positions as Pulp Purchasing Manager and Paper Sales Manager before joining UPM from the position of Sales Director at Ekman.
Bengt Blomberg has been appointed Director, Sales Development and New Markets. Mr Blomberg has long experience from various management positions in pulp and paper business in Europe and North America, and his most recent position was Managing Director of Aylesford Newsprint in the UK.
Connie Bi continues as Sales Director for Asia-Pacific based in China.
Simon Fagerudd has been appointed Technical Customer Service Manager for UPM Pulp Business Area. Mr Fagerudd leads the network of UPM Pulp Technical Customer Service consisting of the following persons:
Ines Eluen, UPM Fray Bentos, Kirsi Riekkinen, UPM Kaukas mill, Päivi Hyvärinen, UPM Kymi mill and as new appointments Wendy Xu, Asia-Pacific, based in China, and Niklas Keskinen, UPM Pietarsaari mill.
UPM TO ESTABLISH COMPETENCE CENTRE FOR EUCALYPTUS IN URUGUAY

UPM will strengthen its research on eucalyptus fibre and build a competence centre at the Fray Bentos pulp mill in Uruguay. The new centre including expansion of the existing laboratory facilities will be operational during the first half of 2012.
