wInd power plans for kotka proceed

(VentusVis, Helsinki, March 14, 2012) Kotkamills Oy and VentusVis Oy have made a joint environmental impact assessment (EIA) plan for the wind power production they have planned for the Kotka area. Kotkamills plans for three to four wind turbines on their mill site, and VentusVis plans for four to five wind turbines for the Halla area in Kotka.

The wind conditions in the planned wind power production areas in these industrial and harbour sites are excellent. In addition, the electricity grid is close by and there are plenty of options for connecting the wind power turbines to the grid.

The wind power plans, environmental impact assessment programme and location plans will be introduced to the public on Wednesday night, March 14, at Kotka’s main library. In addition to the companies in question, there will be representatives from the EIA consultant Linnunmaa Oy, the city of Kotka and Kaakkois-Suomen ELY-keskus (The Centre of Economic Development, Transport and Environment for Southeastern Finland).
