About UPM

The Pulp business area has four modern pulp mills - three in Finland and one in Uruguay -and plantation operations in Uruguay. The total annual production capacity is 3.2 million tonnes of high quality pulp. The Pulp business employs about 1,400 people and in 2011 the sales amounted to EUR 1.65 billion.

UPM aims to be one of the leaders in the pulp market. In order to optimise pulp flows, UPM operates both as a pulp buyer and as a pulp seller. We want to be a reliable long-term partner for our customers and our suppliers.

UPM’s versatile pulp products range from northern softwood pulp and northern hardwood pulp to eucalyptus pulp made from fast growing plantation wood. We only use wood that is controlled and from sustainable sources. Our plantations in Uruguay are FSC and PEFC certified.
