UPM owns 900 000 hectares of forest land in Finland. About 770 000 hectares of the total area are in commercial use. All of UPM's own forests are certified.
The company forests are a source of raw material and important when developing the expertise of the personnel and forest management methods. Annually, about 10 % of UPM's wood consumption comes from company forests.
Bonvesta lakeside plots and woodlots
Quite a few of UPM's plots of land in Finland are located on lakesides and planned to be Bonvesta lakeside plots. They are highly values and throughout the years, over 10,000 summer cottages have been built on Bonvesta lakeside plots.
Real estate development is a continuous process within UPM, and it is also possible to buy also additional land next to the previously purchased plot.
We sell annually separate woodlots of different sizes for forestry or recreational use primarily outside our key areas. UPM also selectively purchases forest land next to its own areas

Contracts related to land use
