UPM at IfraExpo 2006: Content creates attraction

(UPM, Amsterdam, October 9, 2006) - UPM will be present this year with the theme `Your content. Pure attraction´. Paper is part of the solution for a good newspaper. To get the right end result, start with the right paper.

UPM offers an extensive range of papers for printed communications. "Customers can choose from a wide range from standard newsprint, improved and coloured newsprint and even from a unique coated CSWO-grade giving virtually comparable print results to heatset web offset", says Hartmut Wurster, President of UPM's Newsprint Division.

In addition to UPM News, UPM Brite and UPM Color, the comprehensive selection of SC, MFC, LWC and wood-free papers tailored to suit the different end-uses and printing methods are on show. UPM also presents UPM Matt, the company's unique coated paper for coldset printing.

In the spirit of continuous improvement, UPM has developed its production operations to meet current and future technical trends e.g. wider reels and bigger diameters. Several newspaper publishers have lately been investing in huge, new printing machines. In addition to traditional newspapers, new products can be introduced to coldset printing presses, such as: supplements, magazines, brochures etc. Better time utilisation provides additional revenues to the publishers. UPM constantly develops the range of CSWO-products for these new applications.

Product manager Elina Kalela will talk about current and future technical trends like large reel dimensions at technical 'info sessions' at our stand. The info shots will be organized at 11.00 and 15.00 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
