The Biofore Concept Car story wins gold at the Golden Hammer International Advertising Festival

(UPM, Helsinki, 17 June 2014) – The video presenting the Biofore Concept Car journey wins gold at the Golden Hammer International Advertising Festival in Riga, Latvia. The winning video was awarded in the Corporate PR subcategory.

The video tells a vivid story of the Biofore Concept Car which runs on UPM's renewable wood-based diesel, UPM BioVerno, and showcases UPM’s other biomaterials.

The vehicle was built by the students of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

The Biofore Concept Car demonstrates the innovative use of biomaterials in the car industry. The majority of parts traditionally made from plastic have been replaced with UPM’s durable, high quality and sustainable biomaterials. The car was first presented to the public at the International Geneva Motor Show in March and it attracted immediate international interest. The Biofore Concept Car has been covered by over 200 different media outlets and there are already hundreds of thousands of Google hits.

The Biofore Concept Car has proven a success story this spring. ProCom, the Finnish Association of Communications Professionals, awarded the Biofore Concept Car project as the Communications Campaign of the year.

The winning video has been created in co-operation with UPM, Metropolia, Faster Horse advertising agency and Imagemaker production company.
